“I’ve got whosits and whatsits galore!”
Well actually, I don’t have a lot of gadgets and gizmos, not running ones anyway! But the big question on twitter amongst runners lately is ‘what running accessories do you what for Christmas?’ It’s a good question and the answers have introduced me to new gadgets and gizmos!
If you’ve read my Advent Calendar post, you’ll know I practice a low-key Christmas. Minimal decorations, few gifts and more presence instead of presents. That works both ways…I don’t get a lot of presents either. Of course, since this is how I choose to celebrate Christmas, I’m perfectly ok with that, so please don’t think I’m moaning about not having loads of gifts!
However, if I DID have a Christmas wish-list for running gear, there would be three things that I would wish for. (Normally I try to stay away from mentioning brand names, but for this post I’ll make an exception!) So, in no particular order, here’s what I would ask for as a gift.
A Runners Wall. I love the idea of having a proper display for my running medals and Runners Wall make some fabulous, stylish displays. I have two medals right now that are sitting in my wardrobe in my room, I absolutely plan on earning more and wish I could hang them up somewhere!
A pair of egloves. Especially for the season we’re in, some warm but useful gloves would be fantastic! I’ve heard some really great reviews for these gloves, people who have them really seem to love them. I’d love a pair too , especially the all black ones!
A Garmin Forerunner watch. I don’t know if the gps on a watch is any better than the gps on a phone, but the watch does more than just track your route, it gives you a whole lot of information about your run, pace, heart rate etc. It sounds like it would be a very helpful tool and would be a lot easier to wear than running around with my phone on my arm!
So that’s my Christmas running wish-list! What kind of accessories are on your list this year? Feel free to share in the comments!
