Good question, I’m glad you asked! I have a few things in mind to round out 2013. Since I started running the last few months have been so unexpectedly crazy and awesome, but have ultimately led to my having a self-confidence I’ve never had before, and never imagined I could have!
I’d like to end the year on the same note! So, my plan for the next month and a bit is:
1. Keep running!
I’m going to be working on my pace for the next few weeks. I want to get to a more consistent, sustainable pace. Right now I swing from a 6.36min pace to a 13.86min pace which is wildly inconsistent! My average pace over 3km is 10.10 and I’d like to get that to about 8. In addition to that, I want to gradually increase my distance.
2. Run another 5k!
After the success of my MoRun last Saturday, I am hooked! I’ve signed up for another 5k, on December 14th. This one is for another worthy cause and I’m very much looking forward to it! For more on the Aware 10k and 5k Christmas run you can check out their website.
3. Stay involved on Twitter.
I can’t thank fellow runners on twitter enough for your support, encouragement and advice. The respect I have gotten from runners on twitter has made a huge difference in my outlook towards myself and my running. I couldn’t do it without you!
4. More blogging!
I like running, and I like writing about running! So I’m just going to keep on doing what I’m doing. I also need to start being more deliberate about reading running blogs. Runners’ stories are so inspiring and motivating, I need more of that in my life!
Ultimately though, for 2013 I want to end the year running…and smiling!
I’ve also found other runners to be really supportive. As a community they really are a friendly bunch, despite it being an individual sport everyone helps each other.
Absolutely. Community is the perfect description. It’s really made a difference, and I’m really glad I decided to go on Twitter to talk about running!
Non running friends would soon get sick of the runbrags if we didn’t get it out somehow!
