I’m still thinking over my 10k race from yesterday, the VHI Women’s Mini Marathon. In truth, I actually ran two races yesterday and my race report could go either way. On one hand, I ran a bad race. On the other, it was a good race.
So which race report should I write for you readers? The positive one or the negative one?
I’ve been planning and working on this post all week; my pre-10k race thoughts. There’s a lot going on in my life now, with a lot to think about but I’ll try and keep this short.
On Monday I’ll be running the VHI Women’s Mini Marathon (10k) race for the third time. The first year I took part in this race I ran/walked it. Last year I ran the whole thing.
This year will be my first year actually racing it. Inconceivable? No…not really.
Today I ran my 3rd 5 mile race, the Dublin Simon Fun Run, and I surprised myself by running a PB!
Given that I was so unprepared and seriously down in training time, I had hoped I’d beat my previous 5 mile time but wasn’t aiming for it. I just wanted to enjoy the atmosphere and the race!
And you know what? I did all of the above!
By the way…I have a race this Saturday which I’m so unprepared for! It’s the Dublin Simon 5 mile Fun Run and unfortunately I’m not really feeling capable of running 5 miles right now. But, I’m feeling pretty positive about the race too, I’m not worried or nervous or anything. It did kinda creep up on me though! Time flies, right?
This spring/summer I have two races I’ve signed up for already. I feel a bit shocked though because I hadn’t planned on things happening this way! Honestly I was going to focus on the big race, and train for that and once I had that under my belt I’d think about my next step.
So what’s up with my summer runnin’?
